Adult Ed is the Continuing Education Division of Santa Barbara City College. Founded in 1918, we are proud to be considered one of the leading continuing education programs in the nation.

Our mission is to provide a comprehensive and responsive learning environment, committed to lifelong learning for the Santa Barbara community. We endeavor to bring economic stability and personal enrichment to our community through basic education and offerings that promote social interaction, self-realization and creative expression.

Nearly 50,000 people enroll in Adult Ed courses annually, choosing from hundreds of diverse daytime, evening and weekend classes offered each term (fall, winter, spring and summer). Classes are offered at over 80 community locations.

Inspired by a faculty of more than 400 professionals, Adult Ed students discover the joy of learning while developing new skills and building friendships that last a lifetime.
